Help & FAQ

We've got you covered.

Answers to common questions below. If you can't find what you need, email us directly.

Getting Started

First steps.

How do I start learning?

Open Forge Academy and tap any course on the home screen. Regex Fundamentals and SQL Essentials are completely free — no purchase needed. Tap a lesson to begin reading. Lessons are self-contained and take 4–8 minutes each.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Forge Academy requires no account, no email address, and no sign-up of any kind. Open the app and start learning immediately.

Does the app need Wi-Fi?

No. All lesson content, flashcards, quizzes, and certificate generation run entirely on-device. The app makes zero network calls after download. Study on a plane, subway, or anywhere without signal.

What order should I study the courses in?

Any order works, but we recommend starting with Regex Fundamentals or SQL Essentials if you're newer to programming, as they introduce core pattern-matching and data concepts that appear across all developer work. Git Mastery and REST API Design are great next steps for practical day-to-day skills.

Free vs Pro

What's included.

Which courses are free?

Regex Fundamentals and SQL Essentials are completely free, with no time limit, no cap on usage, and no ads. They include full lessons, flashcards, quizzes, and a certificate on completion.

What does Pro unlock?

The $9.99 one-time Pro purchase unlocks three additional courses: Git Mastery, REST API Design, and Security Fundamentals. Each includes full lessons, flashcards, quizzes, and a certificate. Pro is a permanent unlock — no subscription, no expiry.

Is there a subscription?

No. Forge Academy uses a one-time purchase model. Pay $9.99 once and own all Pro courses forever. There is no monthly or annual subscription.

Purchase & Restore

Buying and restoring.

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device?

Open Forge Academy on the new device, go to any Pro course, and tap "Restore Purchase." Sign in with the Apple ID you used when you originally purchased, and Pro content will unlock immediately at no extra charge.

Can I use Pro on multiple devices?

Yes. A single purchase applies to all devices signed in with the same Apple ID. Restore purchases on each device as needed — you will not be charged again.

I was charged but the courses aren't unlocked. What do I do?

First, try tapping "Restore Purchase" on any Pro course screen. If that doesn't resolve it, email us at support@zima-logistics.com with your Apple ID email and the date of purchase. We'll get it sorted quickly.

How do I request a refund?

Purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple's refund process. We are unable to issue refunds directly.

Certificates

Earning and sharing.

How do I earn a certificate?

Complete all lessons in a course and pass the quiz with a score of 70% or above. The certificate is generated automatically and appears on the course completion screen.

Where can I share my certificate?

Tap the share button on the certificate screen to open the standard iOS share sheet. You can share via AirDrop, email, iMessage, save to Files, or post to any app that appears in your share sheet — including LinkedIn.

Is the certificate a real PDF?

Yes. The certificate is generated as a standard PDF file on your device. It can be opened in any PDF viewer, printed, or attached to emails exactly like any other document.

I lost my certificate. Can I get it again?

Yes. As long as you've met the completion criteria (all lessons done, quiz passed at 70%+), you can regenerate the certificate at any time from the course screen.

Flashcard System

How spaced repetition works.

What is spaced repetition?

Spaced repetition is a learning technique that shows you review material at increasing intervals over time. Cards you find easy are shown less frequently; cards you find hard are shown more often. This matches how human memory actually works and dramatically improves long-term retention.

What do Again / Hard / Good / Easy mean?

After flipping a flashcard, you rate how well you knew it: Again (didn't know it — show again soon), Hard (knew it but struggled — shorter interval), Good (knew it — standard interval increase), Easy (too easy — longer interval, skip ahead). Honest ratings produce the best scheduling.

How many flashcards are there?

There are 60 flashcards total — 12 per course, covering the highest-value concepts that also appear on quizzes. Quality is prioritised over volume.

Offline & Privacy

Your data stays on your device.

What data does Forge Academy collect?

None. Forge Academy collects zero data. There are no analytics, no crash reporters, no tracking SDKs, and no server communication of any kind. All your progress, streaks, and flashcard intervals stay on your device.

Is my progress backed up?

Yes — through standard iOS backup to iCloud or your computer. This is your own backup, controlled entirely by your Apple ID settings. Forge itself sends nothing to any server.

What happens to my progress if I reinstall the app?

If you restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup that includes Forge Academy, your progress will be restored. If you reinstall without a backup, progress will start fresh — but your Pro purchase can always be restored for free.
